Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

Since I ended up spending less in England than I had thought I would, yesterday I bought a new printer (linked below) - a nice color laser jet - should be fun to toy around with and my current printer (HP4L) is about 10 years old and dying very quickly - though it does still work and has been quite a capable printer.

The printer cost $440 and had a $50 mail in rebate AND a free 17" monitor. So...I now have three monitors on my desk - I have two dedicated to my main computer and one dedicated to my server. It actually works out perfectly. Before, the second monitor on my desk was attached to a KVM and switched back and forth between being the second monitor on my main computer and the primary monitor on my server. Now, the third monitor is still hooked up to the KVM and when not being used for the server (not too often), I can switch over and use it with the HTPC. I'd like to get some more Viewsonic 2025's to use all widescreens and make my desk look prettier, but three mis-matched Viewsonics will work for now - especially since the latest one was free.

Also, a few weeks ago, I bought another 74gig Raptor and tried to setup a RAID 1 so anything written to the C: would be automatically mirrored. Unfortunately, that didn't work and I lost everything on C: (though I had made a backup of everything before attempting to RAID the drives anticipating problems). I also added another drive to my Netgear SC101's and the drive space is ridiculous, but so beautiful to look at...

1903.4 gigabytes available to play with - just 791.8 free. Yay for 1.9 terrabytes. Just 726 gigabytes total on my server with 263.6 gigabytes free. Total storage between two computers and networked storage: 2.63 terrabytes.

I promised some photos, so here they are. I received prints of all 600 photos I took over the course of the visit to London and after going through the first pack of pictures, I found four that I thought stood out. Three of the four were taken in a small town called Norton St. Philip, home to the Pitchfork Rebellion. The other was taken at Bath with a pigeon flying right at me.

More to be posted soon.

Out the back of the small tavern at which we had lunch lay a beautiful cricket field and across the field a small church in the middle of the country. This picture, moreso than any other I think I have illustrates the true beauty of the countryside. Rolling hills, green acreage, and a quaint old chapel. Absolutely gorgeous and the only reason I'd really want to go back to Southern England - to see more of the countryside - and less of the cities.

You can't help but love the site of such an inviting home. Milk on the porch, plants on the windowsill and in a little nook, with a little sign proclaiming this The Old White Hart. Does it really get any more rural than this?

One more from Norton St. Philip. Combine this with the roundabouts and driving on the left side of the road and you might easily get confused.
