I'm in love with my GBA. Not only does Zelda rule, but I saw they had a Final Fantasy Tactics for the GBA and I rushed out to pick that up. One of my favorite PSX games, FF Tactics isn't just hack and slash, but rather, requires skill and brains. I loved it and the GBA version seems to be great as well. I'm only 29 minutes in, but it seems every bit as good as FFT for the PSX and just another reason to love my GBA.

Chris Matthews is an ass.

I mean really...I respect people who can ask the hard questions and not back down to an opponent, but when Chris Matthews had Zell Miller on his show following Zell's speech on Wednesday, he just acted like a complete ass (not that Zell was much better challenging Matthews to a duel).

Zell Miller in his speech talked about how Kerry voted against pretty much every weapons system put before him in the senate. Fair enough - it's a matter of public record. At the end of his tirade, he said that Kerry has stated that he will defend this country. Fine - we all know Kerry would do so. And then he asked, "With what, spitballs?" Obviously, it's a joke, or, as Zell put it, a metaphor. So then he goes on Chris Matthews' show, Hardball and the first question he asks is, "Do you really think John Kerry intends to defend this country with spitballs?"

Wow, what a hard hitting question. What a great way to start an interview, refer to a statement obviously made in jest and take it as the truth. If I say, "My car cost an arm and a leg," I don't really expect people to ask me, "well why do you still have two arms and legs?" Kudos to you Mr. Matthews for being able to ask the question that was on everyone's mind.

So today, after planning on buying a Game Boy DS when they come out, I decided to buy a GBA with the recent price drop. Basically, the $20 price drop was enough to get me to commit to this one, plus, the DS will be $100 more, and I don't really see $100 worth of reasons to hold out for it. I really bought the GBA for two games - Zelda and Super Mario Bros - both "NES Classic" games. I'm hoping they'll come out with more classics as there are some great games I'd love to play again - Kid Icarus, Adventures of Link, etc. But really...the $100 I paid today was well worth it - playing Zelda again, as it was meant to be played is awesome. Next up - get the accessory that allows me to play my GBA games on the big screen...I can't wait.

Now this is cool...
In its Electronic Entertainment Industry Update released today, TNI Securities reports that the recently revealed headset port on the Nintendo DS will be used in conjunction with the built-in wireless 802.11b networking capabilities to offer voice-over-IP chat--in effect, allowing gamers to use the DS to make free phone calls at wireless network hotspots.
But the real thing that interested me in the article is it says the DS will be out in 2004 in the United States. This, just as I was about to buy a Game Boy Advance because of recent price drops, makes me think again. I guess I can wait a few months (if I've already waited this long...what's a little longer?) and get the DS with built in 802.11b along with the cool dual screens and then I can again start reliving my childhood through Zelda, Super Mario Bros. and Excitebike.

Some of you may recall how Ann Coulter covered the DNC despite being a staunch conservative for USA Today. Well, in all fairness, they've sent Michael Moore to cover the RNC. I just have to wonder if they'll refuse to print his articles like they did Ann's.

I guess the best way to disagree with someone is to punch them as you run by or knock them off a scooter and leave them in critical condition after kicking them in the head while on the ground. I have nothing against peaceful demonstration, but when you resort to violence, what's the point? If you're going to argue that war is bad, don't go spreading violence amongst the streets.

So, as I posted last weekend, I went to Pizza Port (best pizzas on earth) with a bunch of friends, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to get the pizza I wanted, the Pizza Carlsbad. Today, as I was looking for another bottle of the Pizza Port Mo Betta Bretta, I decided to get what I should have last weekend and, boy was it good. It's amazing how good everything goes together on top of the pizza dough...soooo good...
