Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

Last night while filpping channels during commercials of a great Angels comeback, I saw Michael Moore on Fox's Best Damn Sports Show Period. I guess he was promoting his movie, wearing his stupid Spartans hat yet again, but if you just try and watch this guy for 5 minutes, all you get is lies and mis-truths. He was talking about how he gave cameras to the troops in Iraq and they are all disillusioned and don't agree with the war. He goes on to say that all the footage is unedited and that's what the marines feel like. Now...aside from saying that they are all disillusioned, he said that the footage was unedited. Now - how could it be unedited? Are you going to tell me that every single person he gave the camera to was unhappy to be in Iraq and not supportive of the war? Or did he selectively edit which Marines got time in the movie and then try and say that because some Marines are upset, the majority of them must be as well?

He then went on to say that any person who had watched the Pistons in the second half of the season knew they would have no problems with the Lakers and called out those (including co-host Tom Arnold) who said that the Lakers would win the title in four or five games. He asked if anyone ever watches basketball in the heart of America and why no one knew about the Pistons' and their amazing defense. Apparently, with hindsight, Michael Moore is a sports genius being able to say the Pistons would win and the Lakers would lose. Kudos to you sir.

Oh yeah, can't wait for his next film - says he's going to take on Health Care and HMOs.

What a stirring speech...
I defended this country as a young man and I will defend it as President. Let there be no mistake: I will never hesitate to use force when it is required. Any attack will be met with a swift and certain response. I will never give any nation or international institution a veto over our national security. And I will build a stronger American military.
Yes, that's right. He will defend the country. He will wait for an attack and then meet it with swift and certain response. I would feel so much safer with a pacifist president in the White House. Wait for the attack, then respond. How ironic that earlier today I watched a show on the History Channel about the Battle of Cunae in which Hannibal realized that the only way to beat the Romans was on their own turf - the best defense is a good offense.

Congratulations to Troy Percival on save #300. Only 17 other pitchers have reached that illustrious plateau and hopefully 305 will be coming soon - the record for most saves with one ballclub is 305 and Percival has all 300 with the Angels. I was fortunate enough to go to the game tonight and it was great. John Lackey threw three hit shutout ball into the ninth before walking a batter with one out, at which time Percy was brought in for the save. Great game, great fun. Another Angels win (the Rangers have had 4 hits over the last two games and 0 runs).

So who would call the democratic party "putrid" and call Senator Edward Kennedy a "perfect bastard"? Who would say she didn't trust Democratic president Richard Nixon at the time and then added, "Ted Kennedy, I don't trust either"? Who would say such things? Why none other than Teresa "Shove It" Heinz-Kerry of course. Yeah...the same one who will be on stage with the lovable Senator Kennedy tomorrow night. What fun.

For even more fun, watch this video clip where Teresa is on tape saying that there are "Unamerican traits" creeping into politics today. She then is on tape later saying, "I did not say 'activity' or 'unamerican.'" I don't really think I'd have a huge problem with Kerry in office, I don't think it would be the best direction for us as a country, but I don't think it'd be a terrible descision. However, having Teresa Heinz-Kerry as the first lady does scare me. The more I read about her, the more I see her on television, the more I hear her talk, it just scares me.

$108 - $135 a share? Now that's a lot of money. While it sounds somewhat reasonable at this point in time, I would expect to see the price drop off after a short time as I really don't see any logical reason for a company that has only $700 mil. in revenue and only $80 mil. in earnings to be worth over $2 billion on the stock market. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how GOOG does.

Congratulations to Lance Armstrong and the U.S. Postal Team on accomplishing what had never been accomplished before - six Tour de France wins - all in a row.

You just have to wonder how much the French liked seeing the American flag raised above the others and listening to the national anthem of the United States of America being played on one of their most famous boulevards (and having the flag of Texas fly atop one of the most prestigious Parisian hotels as well). Congratulations - it was well deserved Lance.
