Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

Deep Discount DVD.com is an evil, evil, evil site. They usually have the best prices around without factoring in coupons from other sites as they don't charge tax or shipping, so the price you see is the price you get. Well...today, they decided to kill my credit card by giving out a 20% off coupon. So now, every DVD is insanely cheap (compared to prices you'll pay anywhere else) and it's killing me. I don't want to say how many DVDs I bought, but it's quite a few for my Criterion collection (I plugged all holes between 1 and 100), so after this order comes in, I will have 1-100 and too many more.

If you want to use the coupon, it is SUMMERSALE. If you've already used that one, you can use DVDTALK. Both give 20% off and are usable once per account. Kind of makes me regret buying the Simpsons: Complete 4th Season for $30 at Fry's today (after tax). The regular price is $49.95 and the price at Fry's would be going up to $39.99 on Friday. But now, I see it's $29.89 at DDD with 20% off, that brings us to $23.91 shipped. So I just wasted $6 (though, I didn't know about the coupon until I got home and had already unwrapped the disc). So, go, spend, buy, waste, watch, enjoy.

Just a few quick thoughts on things...

1) I'm sick of this poker fad in the U.S. Granted, I like watching it on TV, but I've been into poker for years and watched the World Series of Poker back when ESPN played in in just a one hour TV show (it was up to 6 hours last year and who knows how long it'll be this year). I guess it's nice now that more people are getting into the game, so there's more games for me to play in, but everyone watched Chris Moneymaker win last year and think they can do the same. Well, you can't.

2) Karl's Kurse. I know why the Lakers didn't win. It wasn't injuries, it wasn't infighting, it wasn't the Pistons. It was the Kurse of Karl Malone. He is destined not to ever win a title. And right now, I don't feel all that bad for him. Granted, he was one of the few on the team to actually give 110%, but we all know he just tried to buy a ring, and the fates aligned so it wouldn't happen.

3) I had contemplated forwarding all my incoming mail to GMail to see how it handled all the spam and to see if I could use it for what I need e-mail for. But then, I tried accessing it on my PDA and, lo and behold, you can't. You can't access it on a PDA no matter what you try to do (even clicking the "Try to log in anyways" after being told you won't be able to use it, didn't work). So there goes that idea of being able to check my e-mail at lunch. Maybe I'll just take the computer from the MAME cabinet and setup Windows Server on it and have it hold all my e-mail that I can check on the road via Pocket Outlook.

4) I want a cinammon roll.

Just a quick..."Wow"...Firefox 0.9 is amazing. I loved everything about 0.8. But 0.9 is simply wonderful. Faster, cleaner, less of a memory hog. I'm now in browser heaven. Where are you 1.0 (a.k.a. The IE Killer)?
