Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

Well, after reaching the limits of my patience waiting for my motherboard/cpu/ram to ship from Monarch, I angrily e-mailed them today saying that if they're going to be late on an order, at least give me a reason why. Shortly thereafter they replied, letting me know that their last shipment of RAM from Corsair was damaged and therefore the RAM I wanted is now out of stock and won't be in until August 2nd. August 2nd?! And I was going to be notified when? According to their site, combos ship 1-3 days after being submitted to the warehouse. My order was submitted to the warehouse on the 14th (5 business days ago)...so they're already 2 business days late.

However, the customer service representative was very nice, offered alternatives to my Corsair C2PT and offered to expedite the order out the door tomorrow with an upgraded shipping method (most likely FedEx 2 Day). So instead of my 2GB of Corsair C2PT, I'll be getting 2GB of Patriot Extreme Performance RAM (PEP1G3200LL) which has garnered great reviews at NewEgg and will actually save me some money (about $50 actually). So even though it's not the perfect RAM for the system (at least what I wanted - it could actually be better), I'll save a couple bucks and the latency numbers might actually be lower (hence faster).

And with that $50, I'm almost 1/4 of the way to the next 2GB to bump me up to the max 4GB as I have planned for a future upgrade.

Wow, I just looked at my site in IE here at Kinkos and it's all centered. What an ugly mess.

Switch to Firefox - pages look like they are coded.
