Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

2006/07/22

As some people may have known, but most didn't, I've been in London for the last few days. I didn't want to announce to the world that our house was vacant since I came here with my family (we do have someone watching it, but stil...).

We've been all over the south western portions of England and though I wanted to head north, we just didn't have the time nor the means to do so. Yesterday though, we took a trip that was just over 12 hours long to Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford on Avon and the Cotswalds - it was pretty amazing. Stonhenge and Bath alone made the trip as they are on the UN's list of World Heritage Sites (linked below).

A couple of days earlier, we visited the Tower of London, which also is on the site and well-deserving. Another site that I expected to see on the list was the site we visited today, Windsor Castle - it trumps the Tower of London, and has a lot of history to go with it.

But anyways, the trip has been awesome and I've got some great pictures which will follow shortly - upwards of 500 thus far. Having two 2GB SD cards and a battery that never seems to die along with my new camera has made the picture-taking experience sublime. I took multiple shots of anything interesting since I had the space to do so. The battery that came with my Canon camera has been absolutely awesome as well. I've had to charge it once over the 500+ pictures - and although a lot of those didn't use flash, quite a few of them did.

Off to our final dinner here in London, and tomorrow we catch the 9:55am flight which lands in LAX at 12:55pm. If only the flight were really just three hours - instead of the eleven it is with the time change. The flight from LAX to London was absolutely excruciating and I don't expect the flight back to be any better. Paying a couple hundred dollars extra for business class is definitely worth it and I would have gladly spent my own money for the upgrade.

P.S. - These keyboards in the UK suck. Why is " above 2 instead of @? I guess you need some more keys, but seriously...€€
