Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

I got an e-mail today asking what I had against Michael Moore because of my quick reference of him in the Feb. 29th post. I had planned on posting something about him a long time ago, but never really had the time, nor the inclination. But I'll just keep it short and quick. Michael Moore is an idiot. He's a liar, a con man, and just an all around egocentric idiot. He should have never won the Oscar for Best Documentary for Bolwing for Columbine as it was not a truthful documentary - but rather filled with propaganda and outright fallacies. He has in the past made accusations about our President and other well-known Republicans which have turned out to be 100% false, yet he has never issued an apology or retraction. I don't have anything against Democrats, or far-left Liberals, however, when you put Michael Moore out there as some sort of "speaker for your ideology" - it makes everyone look stupid.

I cannot stand the guy, and even though I found Bowling to be an entertaining movie, it should be taken as just that - entertainment - not fact. He twisted newspaper articles to fit his agenda, he took clips from rallies held on one side of the country and made them look like they were staged elsewhere, he cut the interviews to make them look and sound the way he wanted them to and he outright lied in many places in his so-called "documentary." I could go on, but I really don't think he deserves any more of my time. The man is a waste of human life with no redeeming qualities. If he were to perish underneath an oliphant, the world would be a better place.

Just a quick question. The democrats over the weekend ripped the Bush administration for not intervening in Haiti earlier. They asked why the administration didn't take steps to remove the leader of a country where it seems most of the people there were unhappy with the way they were being governed. The democrats wanted the U.S. to send troops and step in without the UN, without NATO. Yet we go to Iraq, remove a ruthless dictator who had killed tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of people and the administration is chastised for removing him from power. I realize there are obvious differences, but in the grand scheme of things, how is going to Iraq all that much different than Haiti? Should we just have waited for people to rise up in Iraq and overthrow a ruthless dictator and then step in? It doesn't make any sense to me. Both countries had people who hated their leader. We are now in both countries without UN or NATO oversight - I guess you can just spin whatever you want to suit your need....

2 quick observations: Congrats to Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - all 11 awards were well deserved. Of the three films to receive 11 OSCARs, LOTR was the only one to sweep (LOTR: 11/11, Titanic: 11/14, Ben Hur: 11/12). Secondly, kudos to both Tim Robbins and Sean Penn for not being stupid on stage and voicing political opinions that we already know you stand for. And here's hoping that Michael Moore had his last appearance on OSCAR night ever as he was crushed in a LOTR special effect.
