Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

2005/04/05

I've been waiting a long time for baseball season to get here and it's finally here. Over the weekend, the Angels swept the Dodgers in the freeway series and hopes are definitely high for the team this season. Tonight was game 1 and they certainly didn't disappoint. Colon held a potent Texas offense to just two runs and Vladimir Guerrero (last year's AL MVP) proved once again how important he is to this team with a 1st inning HR and a huge double off the wall resulting in another RBI later in the game.

It's definitely hard to see some of the core Angels players from the 2002 World Series team gone, notably Percival and Eckstein, but we continue on and making the playoffs should not be hard this season. Frankie Rodriguez completely shut down the 1, 2 & 3 batters in the 9th inning and didn't provide all the drama that Percy usually provided when coming in to close the game out.

Anyways, ANGELS: 1-0

One game down, 181 to go.
