Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

2006/11/20

Well, I bought a Wii today. Didn't stand in line. Bought it off eBay. I made a couple of bids early this morning which were a little high, but I was outbid at the last minute on them, so I didn't really worry too much. What I was looking for though was a Wii with the new Zelda game. The console sells for $250. Zelda is $50. I found an auction with an extra remote as well (sells for $40) for $340. I bid at the last second $351 which entered a bid of $345. Someone tried to take it from me at the last second for $350, but because I bid $351, I got it.

There was $40 shipping on it, so in all, I paid $391. The guy who posted the auction also posted an image of his receipt:

So, he paid $368. I paid $391. He made $23 but has to ship it. Also has to pay eBay fees. Also has to pay Paypal fees. Poor guy probably is going to lose money on the auction. And while I feel sorry for him, starting the auction at a low price point probably wasn't the best idea. Of course, I don't have the system yet and he could back out, which would result in negative feedback, but I'm hoping he doesn't.

I can't wait to get it. At a premium of $23 over the in-store price. Without waiting in line for hours.
