Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

What? Alarmist? I don't believe it. Who didn't see this one coming?

Professor Bob Carter of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University, in Australia gives what, for many Canadians, is a surprising assessment: "Gore's circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic. It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention."

And you like to a blog which I've never heard of - it may be credible, it may not be. But showing a graph of climate changes between 1976 and 2006 shows nothing. Oooh...little red dots. In thirty years the temperature of the planet has gone up. Does that mean we're to blame? Or perhaps the temperature has shifts when it goes up and also goes down.

Occam's razor states that the easiest answer is usually the right one. So, should I believe that over 30 years (a rather short period of time to try and show that global warming exists) either a) we simply experienced a time in which temperatures rose and they will most likely fall or b) humans created it by releasing carbon dioxide amongst other harmful substances into the atmosphere which have had disastrous effects on the environment and we'll all be dead in 10 years (or whatever scare tactics Gore will use 10 years from now)? Easiest answer - we're simply in a warming trend.

But then again, I'm not a climatologist, and neither is Al Gore. He can manipulate his data to present whatever opinion he wants. But by being so alarmist, he's doing more harm than good. If he just wanted to foster discussion, more power to him. But if he wants to push his own agenda, that's where the problem lies.
