Well, as much as I liked using Xlobby, I finally got Meedio to work with my television shows and it's absolutely awesome. It automatically imported the files (which was extremely easy because of the way I had been naming them (SeriesName Season#Episode# - EpisodeName.avi) and then it looked up the series and episodes in an online database, imported the information about the shows and set them all up so beautifully, I immediately shelled out $40 for the full version of the program (I had been in the 15 day trial period).
Here's some beautiful screenshots using the Domokun theme (themes change easily without restarting, but the Domokun is cute and easy to read).
The main screen - select from whichever options you want. Simple, easy, elegant.
The television sub-screen. The importer automatically downloads banners for the shows (though I had to create one for MI-5) and you just click on the banner to go to the next screen...
Here are the details for an individual show (MacGyver here). You've got the banner, who it stars, when it first aired, genre, running time of each episode, and a brief overview. Click on seasons to go here...
Select your season.
After selecting your season, you're presented with the episode listing which includes original air date alongside the title. I haven't figured out if they're titles from the online database or if they're the ones I input from the filenames.
Here is the episode screen - you get title, director, writer, air date, season #, episode # and a synopsis. You can from here either play it, add it to the queue (queue up multiple shows to watch in order), go to the next episode or previous episode, or go back (an option on any screen).
The whole thing works perfectly with my Streamzap remote (see...keeping all my computer crap pays off). Now...to build the HTPC along with the media server. The nice quarterly bonus I just got should help out - as long as I don't lose it in Vegas this weekend for our company retreat (and I already have some of it earmarked for a new 20.1" widescreen monitor).
