I'm not really sure if I believe what I saw earlier, but Sportscenter actually did a piece on the California teams. They talked about the Angels, the Dodgers and the Padres and how well they're doing this year and then they went to Harold Reynolds of Baseball Tonight to see who would still be winning come playoff time and he picked...drumroll please...the Angels!
So, speaking of the Angels, we already had two stars on the DL - Garret Anderson and Tim Salmon. Then yesterday, Darin Erstad went down with a hamstring problem that he has been fighting for the past couple seasons, and to make matters even worse, today, Jose Guillen went down sliding into second with what is being reported as a sprained knee and ankle, thought it looked a lot worse. And all of this as the Angels ride their 9 game win streak into New York and Baltimore. We'll just see how they can handle playing on the East Coast - which sucks for us West Coasters as not everyone can get off work at 4:05 to watch games Tuesday & Wednesday and then there's a 10:05am game on Thursday and then again on Friday, 4:35pm (the one day I work late every week) - having a real job really sucks.
P.S. Thank you Blogger for finally fixing the quirk of shorter entry boxes in Firefox - I can now see a full box rather than one that was only 10 lines tall. And if you don't use Firefox yet, DOWNLOAD IT!
P.P.S. When spellchecking, they actually told me that Blogger is not a word. Shouldn't Blogger be in the dictionary at Blogger.com?
And in case you're wondering, the Angels are still #1 in baseball with the Dodgers now in a surprising #2 spot. The teams from Texas still round out the top 4, but San Diego slid a spot to 6th while Boston moved up from 7th. But still - having three teams in the top 6 in baseball from Southern California is pretty nice. Now, we just need the Angels to beat the hated New York Yankees three times in a row Tu-Th and the Lakers to beat San Antionio three times in a row for all to be right in the world.
