Ducks & Angels. What more could you want?

2004/04/01

I could have sworn I posted about the cool poker chips I received for my Christmas present, however, checking the archives, I can't find anything about them. But basically, my dad found these chips that say "Blake's Casino" on them with a big "$1" in the middle. I received 100 of them I think, can't be sure, and I initially wanted to add more, since my dad did not buy all of them for my present. So when I made my first return trip to the Poker Store in Stanton, CA, they wanted $1 for each chip, and I wasn't really willing to pay that much since I already had quite a few and I couldn't get any more made, so it kind of made them pointless since I couldn't match them.

Well, after playing poker for 5 hours on Tuesday night (didn't make much money, but did finish in the positives), I decided to see if I could find some more chips and called up the Poker Store again today. They said they had about 60 more of them in stock and they were only $0.50/each, so I couldn't pass up that deal and drove on down. I bought them out of all the "Blake's Casino" chips they had and also bought some other chips that are the same design, but different colors, and have no "branding" (e.g. Blake's Casino) - just a blank center. They were $0.60/each and I bought 41 of those, so now, I've got a very large collection of my "Blake's Casino $1" chips and about 25 cool looking yellow chips, 10 blue chips and then about 5 red chips all of the same design. I'm pretty happy, though I would love to have more of the yellow, red and blue chips, but I bought all they had.

I'll just have to keep an eye out online. I love these chips at eBay, but yesterday they were $100 for 600 and now they're over $200. I don't have that much money to spend now on poker chips, nor do I really know how much I'd want to spend on "Kuo Wha" casino chips.
