With the initial reports flowing in, proclaiming Windows 64 bit edition runs on average 10-20% faster than Windows 32bit edition, it's just hard to stay away. My computer is slowly becoming outdated (though it still does perform nicely), but damn, Windows XP 64-Bit Edition looks amazing. Of course, to run a 64-Bit OS, you need a 64-bit processor, but the current 64 bit processors from AMD are nice, but fairly limited as they are an emerging technology. Luckily, the 939 socket should be coming out, and along with it, the ability to use unregistered DDR RAM, however, ATI hasn't yet released 64 bit driver. Nonetheless, with an upgrade on the horizon, 64 bit processing is the just one of the few upgrades I've been looking forward to. I still need a couple SATA hard drives and a DVD-R would always be nice. Not sure what I'd do with this "old" computer with the 437 gigs of storage.
